I suppose I should vent amongst people that understand. I'm just getting sick of all this.

Listen up, people. The Labradoodle is NOT a breed. It is a Lab-Poodle mix. It does not breed true. We also do not need more mixes running around. Go to your local shelter and see them running around by the dozen. What's that, you say? Blind people who are allergic to dogs need a guide dog too? I'll agree with that, but here's a much better idea. USE THE POODLE. Standard Poodles are hypoallergenic, extremely smart, and very friendly. What's wrong with using them? We do not need a new breed. There are so many breeds out there that I bet one's already out there that serves your purpose. If you're "creating" one I will bet you're looking for a quick buck.

    Sheesh.

Hey has anyone heard of a "JUG" or a "BUG" I sh#% you not, I went to pet's plus for treats for bailey and they had them. JUG is a Jack russle and Pug mix and the BUG is a Beagle and Pug mix. Unbelieveable.

As a groomer I see this all of the time. Schnoodle, the famous cockapoo, pekeapoo, etc. I have made a few people angry, as I refuse to put down cockapoo on my records. I list them as cocker/poodle mix. :D

People are paying big bucks from these "breeders". Years ago I got a call from a gal searching for a registered cockapoo. I spent quite a bit of time trying to convince her that there was no such thing. It was getting rather heated, so I told her she was welcome to come look at my AKC book listing all AKC breeds. She ended the conversation with "well ok, do you know where I can find a registered pekeapoo."

And, what is worse, there are registries popping up that will register all of these mixes. CKC is just one of them. That is Contenintal Kennel Club, not the Canadian Kennel Club.

We can only continue to educate the gullible public and hope some of it sinks in.

    :)

I can't believe some people! A BUG and a JUG!!!!!!! As if the pekepoo and cockapoo wasn't bad enough! smashicon I've also seen Westese. A West Highland White Terrier mixed with a Maltese. Don't get me wrong I love all dogs, pure and mixed. My baby Dominique is a mixed breed I found as a stray. But for these people to 'invent' and breed the mixes... they're only in it for a lil cash. IMO

well, has anybody ever heard of a Huskypoo??

    they have minis and standards..
Yes that's right a husky and a poodle.

    That's the worst I think..

Also there's the goldendoodle, which sounds more to me like dog sh*t then a dog breed...

    Golden retriever and poodle.

    and the ori peis....

    pug and sharpeis.

There's a whole bunch of new "breeds" out there.... I just think theprices are outrageous.... For a goldendoodle (I hate to say or type this name) the prices go up and up to $1500. That was just one breeder I saw the web site....

I don't know about the others......

It's just a shame what people are trying to do with the wonderful breeds we have....

I know a weird lady here in Oregon that bred her Cockerspaniel and what they now call "american eskimo" , they were beautiful white puppies and people went crazy over them. So I'm sure they are being bred now as a new breed to. Don't know of any new name for them though! Cockimo? who knows! She has a bunch of chiwawas (can't spell it. those tiny mexican dogs) I'm surprised she hasn't tried to breed them to something. Other than being inbred! Some people are sick out there and don't know how to control themselves like this lady who loves baby animals and continues to breed . whether it's dogs, cats, horses, Goats, you name it she's done it. It needs to be stopped!

A Groomers nightmare!!!! Cockers don't have the best of temperaments and have a coat that mats easily. Am. Eskimos
have a double shedding coat and I have to watch them, as many of them are biters also.

    ;)

We saw a Labradoodle just a week or two ago. He was chocolate colored and about the size of a standard poodle. We stopped to chat to the owner because Tommy was playing with her dog. I asked what breed it was, and she said 'Oh it's a new breed, a Labradoodle, they're very rare and exclusive. We had to pay £800 ($1282) for him'.

So I said '£800?!?! but it's just a mix. We paid £450 ($721) each for pure bred and registered Boxer and Rottweiler'.

She wasn't happy at all when I said that I thought she had been 'done'.

Why are people so greedy - and why are others so gullible?
