Can a rabies shot do that??

So I need your help! I found a small little lump on Ali's shoulder two days ago! It feels like a lymph node on a human when we get sick! And about the size of a small grape. We have NOT gone to see the vet just yet as it does not seem to bother her. One person suggested that it may be a fatty tumor or cyst, but when we rub and push and play with the bump she doesn't even bat an eyelash. Then a woman at a natural dog food store suggested that it could have been her most recent set of shots including her rabies shot! the bump is right where the vet tech gave the shot. At the time I felt a little uncomfortable that the vet did not give the shot, and also that it was given in the shoulder area and not the rump like all the others! has any one had this experience or heard of any one that does??? I guess I should mention that she got her shots a week ago to the day of me finding the lump, and she had a bath the day prior to me finding it. It is almost as if it appeared over night but I think that is impossible! Any thoughts would be appreciated!

It's never happened to my Jade but my vet has told me that a rabies shot can cause a lump so hopefully that is all that it is. I would call your vet and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get bigger. Jade also has two lumps that we're going to have checked out on Thurs.. She hasn't had shots lately so I'm hoping that hers are just cysts since they seem to be just in her skin and they don't bother her. Good luck!

Thumper got a lump from her vaccinations - it went away after a couple of weeks. - Cathy

Diesel also got one after his last set of vaccines. It scared me but went away within a couple weeks.

Buster gets lumps after his shots. Even when he was in the hospital a couple weeks ago with the stomach bug - he came home with lumps where they shot in the antibiotics. They were really tender, too.

Sadie got one after recieving her rabies injection. I took her to the vet to have it checked out and he recommended hot compresses several times a day. If it doesn't shrink or go away in the next couple weeks, I'd take her to the vet.

after cinnamon got her first booster, there was a small bump- the vet said that would be normal and because shes a short haired dog, it would be more noticeable than with long haired ones. So the bump is probably fine but if youre that worried about it, you should go have it checked. Cin also had an allergic reaction after her shots and had a mild seizure. So now she has to have benadryl before her shots and after...speaking of which her rabies shot is on thursday.

dagney got a huge bump near his injection site. we took him to the vet and it was a reaction from his rabies shot. it went away in about a week

It's gone!!!

Almost two weeks later to the day and the bump is gone! The vet suggested benadryl before she gets another set of shots!! Im such a rookie and anything bad or different that happens scares me to death! what a wimp I am!!
