Well, no shots should be a big red flag or you as the buyer. Did they say why they haven't had shots done? By now, these puppies should have had two.

No papers is a second red flag. Why are the parents not registered? One of them is for sure not. I realize that papers are not important to everyone, but IMO it is like getting a car without a title.

I am certainly not going to criticize you if you deide to get this puppy but play it smart. An unregistered puppy should, IMO, cost a good deal less than one that comes with papers. Make sure that you have three business days to have the pup checked out with your vet, and if he finds anything wrong, that you can return it for a refund.

Do not be afraid to ask these people questions about health testing they have done..I do not mean that their vet "said" they are healthy, but things like actual heart tests. And ask about their contract.

Hi Bob,

Just thought I would throw my opinion in for the record - I got Debo out of the paper with no papers either - he's still the greatest Boxer I know!

But, on the other hand... I wish I would have went through a breeder, we had some problems in the beginning. I got Debo at six weeks and the lady said he already had his first shot, then I gave him his second then he got Parvo - and I know it's not this lady's fault, but my own - but be really really careful, those shots are very very important! I would call a vet or get more opinions from the board 11 weeks seems older to have no shots...I learned with Parvo, it takes seven days for the symptoms to show, so a puppy could have something potential and it may not show for seven days. Be careful and ask lots of questions.

Other than that, have fun with your new puppy!!!

Age wise- 11 weeks is fine. Anytime from 8-12 weeks is acceptable. The puppy should have had temporary shots to protect from a variety of dieases. If you do get this pup make sure to have the vet give puppy shots ASAP and keep the pup away from other dogs to be safe.
