Please, please read some of the past breeding posts before you decide if you want to breed your baby. My two cents worth is this: if you have to breed her, wait until she is over two years old. Boxers mature slowly (around two years old) and should not be bred until they are fully grown and mature.

Boxers should be AT LEAST 2 YEARS OLD before being bred. A dog should NEVER be bred on their first heat.
Are you planning to breed your dog when it is old enough?

------------------
Keisha - March 8/98 - female plain brindle with cropped ears
Travis - May 14/00 - male flashy fawn with natural ears.
Sammie - approx 11 yr. F/S Beagle X
Riley - March 8/97 - F/S tri-color, long haired chihuahua

Two years or older is the responsible thing to do as many of the health tests required need the dog to be of that age. You can start now though, by joining your nearest Boxer club and getting involved, learning all you can from other members

These people will be invaluable to you. Are you going to show Gracie? That would be great as well. Volunteering at a Boxer rescue organisation will also provide you with a wonderful Boxer education

I definitely agree with the others. Also, if you do plan to breed her, pleaaasssee, pleeeasssee, DON'T BREED HER BACK TO BACK AT EVERY CONSECUTIVE HEAT!!!!!!!!! This is not a good thing to do at all. Just wanted to put my short two cents in...lol

Ruby is 2 years 3 mos and she's had three seasons so far. We plan on the next season breeding her. Everyone else is right though; she has matured tremendously over the last year; she'll make a better mom now.
