Hi all! Does anyone have a waterbed and how do you keep your boxer from punturing it? I don't let Emma on the bed because I am afraid she will puncture it and my husband will kill us both for destroying our 6 month old house.

I especially worry about when she tries to "dig" in the sheets/blankets.

Good question. We don't have a waterbed, so I don't know first hand. Remy's nails are very long, and I'm sure he COULD puncture a waterbed.

I would think just generally not allowing her on the bed or even in the bedroom. If she sleeps with you, get her her own bed next to yours.

We have had a waterbed for years and we have two boxers that sleep in the bed with us. Yes, they get playful and dig and romp but the bed is always made when they are on it.
I don't think they can hurt it.

I had a waterbed for the first three year of Nikki's life, never a problem. She would pounce on the bed, and rough-house on it. I think they are pretty durable.

Thanks all! I guess I'll get a thick mattress pad for the waterbed. Hubby doesn't really want her to sleep with us on the bed. I, however, like to read in the evening while laying on the bed and wouldn't mind a cuddle.
