Boxers afraid of thunder and lightning?

We never have "real"weather here in San Diego; the thunder and lightning today was "real exciting" for everyone at work today, let me tell you!

I wanted to ask how other Boxers react to thunder and lightning; Ruby wouldn't leave my husband's side all day! Her sad eyes were huge and we couldn't put her outside to do her thing because she was so scared. Is she just a big sissy?

Morgan knows a storm is coming before I do! Their hearing is phenomenal, and she starts shaking out of her skin! She is so scared of thunder, and I feel sorry for her. I should get one of those records with thunder on it, and try to desensitize her. We have so many thunderstorms in N.Dak in the summer time.

Neither of my Boxers, here and at the Bridge show any distress during storms or Fireworks. We used to have a little mixed breed that was just a mess at those times. I used to feel so bad for her - there was NOTHING I could do to makr it better for her.

Hi Elsa, wow, thunder already, we just left and it was so beautiful out there!

In AZ we get Monsoon which is everyday thunder and lightning for about a month straight, I didn't want Debo to be scared so we take him out when it's thundering; he's still scared, but not terrified. He's a little edgy but will stay outside as long as I'm out there. I'm sure not to 'baby talk' him when he's out there; but lighting is very dangerous. I've been out here in Arizona for two Monsoons now and both times, I've heard of people seriously hurt and killed by lighting, I've yet to hear of an animal getting hurt, but I'm sure it happens.

Tina is afraid of thunder. When we have a thunderstorm, after each lightning flash she sits very tense looking through the window with huge eyes as if waiting for something REALLY awful. When thunder comes her rigor goes away and she starts rushing through the house as trying to hide herself :D

Nino was not afraid at all when he was a puppy, if fact he liked to watch out the window. We also have a 9 year old Cocker Spaniel who has always been afraid of storms and shakes the whole time. Nino is now almost three years old and he too has become afraid of storms. He doesn't shake but he sticks to me like glue and just looks so sad. I think he must have gotten his fear from the Cocker.

We live just a few hours north of you Elsa.Starga freaked out yesterday too.Poor little thing, she didn't know what to do.

Nikki is afraid of thunder and lightening, Sometimes I am afraid she will have a heartattack because she gets so upset.
