Good morning
I was watching Eastenders (soap opera) last night on TV and they introduced a red flashy male boxer puppy (Albert) into the show - as a supposed present for one of the younger actors.
This show is watched by millions and I am worried that loads and loads of people will now want a boxer puppy! They are after all so cute.
They are the most fantastic dogs ever, with the right owners, ones who can accept that they need loads of exercise and firm but fair handling.
I would have been far happier if they had adopted an unwanted puppy from a shelter. Pedigree breeds do not benefit from wide televison/film appeal look at what happened to the dalmation.
I love my two boxers and only hope that any that are purchased because of the TV programme will go to great homes. I hate to think that this time next year the UK rescue organisations will have a host of young dogs needing new homes.
Boxers are the greatest, we did have fun thinking of all the havoc it will cause on the filming set and in the studio. Bouncing around, snoring, beaning, etc. etc.
