I think most articles I've read is around 9 yrs. Although, I know several people who have had an 11 or 12 yr old boxer.

not long enough...

Tossie was almost 13 when she left us but there are boxers on here that are older than that I believe. Sophie is one I am thinking of, if she isn't that old she is close. I believe it has to do with bloodlines and how they are taken care of such as good food and such. I also believe vaccinations have a large deal to do with it too, but that would be with any dog, not just boxers.

As a very broad generalisation, 8-10 years seems to be the average life span stated in Nth America, 10-12 years in Europe and elsewhere. I don't think either statement is actually based on stats though - just on generalisation (so may or may not be accurate averages).

Certainly there are many examples in any location of dogs dying younger, or living longer.

Vacc's as a good thing or a bad thing? Just wondering?

DO a search for Jean Dodds and there is a good book on amazon called "Stop the Shots" by John Clifton. Vaccinating is something you will have to research and form your own opinion on.
