Okay, Ellie is 5mo and I'm working on leash training with her. When I put the leash on in the house she flopps around like a fish out of water but as soon as I get her outside she is perfect on the leash. She has gone so far as to pee if she see's me coming with the leash. I promise I haven't tried to scare her with the little tiny pink leash I'm using.

Anyone with some suggestions?

Have you tried putting it on her and just letting her drag it around the house? When you go toward her with the leash, constant praises and treats. Make her associate the leash with good things and soon she won't be able to wait until she sees you get that leash out.

All that and TREATS but only when shes acting normal around the leash. I let Finlay drag his leash for the first 2 weeks, he hated the leash for about 4 days then just accepted it. Now he loves it, everytime I grab it he sits patiently waiting for it to be attached.

Treats, treats, treats. My Boston Indy is very food motivated. Every time you show her the leash I would give her a treat. Once she associates the leash with something good it shouldn't be a problem.

Ellie is also very, very food driven. I have been using treats like crazy. She is slowly getting it but sometimes she still goes fish flop on me. However, she is a smart little dog so I know she'll catch on soon.

Wow, do BT's have the energy:)

They sure do have energy! Indy is 3 and he still goes on like the Energizer bunny. They are a barrell of laughs though, aren't they!
