As some of you have read here before, Bo is my 13 year old boy. He's taking a heart med and Lasix. He has been eating well, cooked hamburger in his dry food. His meds are hidden in that and it's soomething he's not contrary about these days and will eat it all.

Starting this past Sunday, he has pooped in the house 3 times. The first 2 times just diarrhea. Tonight, it had dark red blood. His stomach is gurgling as well.

Any advice folks?

Thanks so much,

DC

You can give him about a tablespoon of pumpkin...100% pumpkin...not pie filling....that will help settle his tummy down. But don't give any more than that...as it can cause the opposite effect of settling the tummy.

As far as the last poop..looking like it may be blood...I would call the vet 1st thing in the am...and see about getting him in....blood in stools is nothing to play with.

Sending positive vibes to Bo...hope he feels better soon!

Althoogh Lucy doesn't have a heart condition she is stomach sensitive and in May she had gastritis she had dark red blood in her stools , diarrhea and she was suffering. You should take him to the vet, to make sure gastritis is not the case!I hope and pray he gets better as soon as possible

update...Bo...

He had pretty bad diarrhea in the house today 3 times...Took awhile to clean it up. But it loooks pretty good and doesn't smell. I used my floor shampooer.

The vet recommended I try him on Immodium. I have given him 2 pills tonite. We'll see how he does overnight.

I appreciate all the prayers.

We both need them.

Thanks,

DC

Try a Pepcid as well. It will help a GI bleed. 1 a day.

I am sorry your puppy is feeling poorly.
