Billy is not in my good books

We moved house recently and in the new house we have tile on the kitchen floor and laminate in the sitting room. However, in the hall and the study we have sisal.

So where do you think Billy chose to throw up? Yep - the study and then again in the hall !

The sisal is like tightly woven strawy stuff - almost impossible to get the gook out of it.

Goodness knows what he's eaten. He ran away when we were out for a walk today and we found him rummaging around a rubbish tip on a farmer's field. What he threw up was black and gloopy - like tar - but smelt of sh*t.

We won't be walking that way for a while.

OMG! Don't you just love how they find the worst place to puke! I hate when Heidi gets an upset because I know she will eventually throw up right in front of either the entrance to the front living room or the entrance into the den. Either place makes a nice spot to leave your mark for all to see!!

They always seem to know the worst spots. When we moved in to our new place this past spring we had the same luck. The carpets are light beige (I didn't have any better option) but all of the kitchen, hall, and mud room are linoleum. Within the first month we had 2 potty accidents and a throw up...all on the carpet of course. For most things here, we use Natures Miracle to neutralize odor then "ALL" laundry detergent on a wet rag and that works great on stains as long as you catch it right away. There are a lot of recommended spot removal products in different posts on here though. For our bigger messes we had to shampoo with a machine. So far we have no permanent stains, but with 4 dogs we know it is coming. It will be okay though, I wouldn't trade my guys for anything and someday I hope to just take all the carpet out and replace with hard wood...

My mom's dog Beemer (cocker) will jump into the bathtub if he has to puke, poop or pee. Wish mine would have learned that one...funny thing is she never taught him to do it.

My best friend when housetraining Jasmine and Sophie had been the "Green Machine" by Bissell. Now it has the heater on board which I think is great, but mine is just the regular kind. I also use a similar product to the Natures Miracle. I'm drawing a blank to the name but it is in a white bottle with pink writing on it - I know PetSmart carries it.

Ohhh -- sisal is a nightmare for stains! My sister has a greyhound with a very sensitive stomach and her sisal rug is full of spots and stains! She's tried many things for stain removal, but hasn't found anything that works yet (and it's been years). She has never tried Windex, though -- it seems like it would be worth a try! Good luck!

I have wood floors with throw rugs--one room is sisal and thats where Cassius loves to throw up---I finally had to take up the sisal--it is impossible to clean!

Toffee always tries to go outside if she is going to be sick. So as long as I am paying attention and get to the door in time, she can get outside. That's at the house. At the apartment....all opening the door will do is get her into the main hallway. We'd have to get out the door, into the elevator, down 6 floors, and out the main doors--I don't think that will happen--my poor girl won't know what to do.

BTW--I don't know how your pups act, but Tof is always *horrified* that she has been sick. She seems so embarrassed and I feel so bad for her.

Yes, Billy would've tried to go outside to throw up, but I wasn't home for the second one and hubby was on the phone for work, so I guess he didn't see the signs!

The patch in the study is stained but the patch in the hall has gone thank goodness.

Today we walked in the opposite direction to where the rubbish dump is!

We just put laminate in the upstairs, and we have berber carpet in the basement. Sam ALWAYS has to have his accidents on the carpet, of course:rolleyes: I do hope you can find a way to remove the spot, sounds like it would be very hard to clean.
