Bernie to the bridge

My sweet Bernie went to the bridge on Friday, he and his partner Sophia came into Boxer Luv Rescue June of 2004 there family was divorcing. They where in boarding and not being adopted for almost 6 months, well I took them to an adoption event in Jan of 2005, I could not take them back we knew it was just a matter of time for both of them Sophia had cancer and Bernie's head was tilted and he could not see out of one eye.
Sophia passed in April of 2005 and I adopted Bernie right after I did not want him to go and not belong to a family. He has been such a joy at our house crazy old coote!!! He was good with everyone that he meet, the last 2 months he started to decline and was getting more shakey and crabby and when you touched him he flinched so I knew it would not be long.
The last week he had started to be aggresive towards my other pups in the house and Friday he attacked my big male Bentley well poor Bernie got pretty beat up. We decided it was time to let the ole guy go he had had enough.It was the hardest thing I have ever done.
He will missed and loved and I pray he and Sophia and Zoey will meet me at the bridge someday.

I am so sorry to read of Bernie's passing and I know that the decision must have been agonizing. May Bernie now run free (pain-free) at the bridge with Sophia and all of our other angels! You were his angel here on earth and bless you for opening your home to him to give him a true family before it was time to go to the bridge.
