Bad Situation

I had previously posted a message about my best friend having severe complications after giving birth. Well, it does not look good. She had an Amniotic Fluid Embolism. Her brain was 10-15 minutes without oxygen. Her baby is healthy and beautiful like her mother. There was extensive brain damage and she will need to be placed in a home. Unfortunately, she is in a vegatative state.
I am still praying for a miracle. She was able to see the baby before she went into cardiac arrest.

The situation I am in now is that I was talking to a friend of mine who is not at all intellegent. She mentioned that this happened for a reason. I let that go. Then she asked me if I ever saw the Seventh Sign. She compared my friend to the character in the movie. She thinks that it is a sign of the apocolypse. That Tina could possibly be the seventh sign. I am so angry right now. I would love to hear your opinions. Also, I only saw parts of that movie and I thought the baby was the seventh sign because it was pure evil.

I am so sorry your freind is not doing well. Our family will say a prayer for her and her family.

As for your other freind, sounds like she is not entirely liveing in this world. Let it go as long as she doesn't force her beliefs on you, your family or your freinds baby. If she becomes insistant you can tell her to talk to her Pastor, and I'm sure she will be set straight!

Linda, I am so very sorry to hear about you friend. This is just heartbreaking. You and your family as well as your friend and hers are in my thoughts and prayers. If you can, please give that beautiful little baby extra love from all of us. What is the baby's name if you do not mind me asking?

Please let the other person's comments go. I also think she may need to get some religious conseling. She probably did not mean to but that was an inappropriate thing to say to you and I'm sorry that this has made you more sad.

Amniotic Fluid Embolism is a rare occurence among pregnant women. It is very rare 1 in 50,000 to 80,000 women. It happens after birth and the placenta tears off the uterus. Some of the fluid and fetal matter can get into the mother's blood vessels and cause organ shut down. Age, race, or health are not determinants. It just happens.

Sorry to hear about your friend and its unbelievable how people try to justify something that bad. I'm glad the baby is okay and maybe your miracle will happen. There are some outstanding recoveries people have made in situtations like this, who knows!!!

It seems to me the best ammunition you can use is information about what she is going through. If it continues to be bad news, just help everyone be prepared to handle it. It may not be pleasant but at least you know what your up against.

Don't take the other gal's comments to heart. They were completely insensitive, thoughtless and uncaring. Hopefully her religious counselor will straighten her out.
