It was an amazing place and if I ever have the chance to go again I will jump at it! We didn't get a chance to see a lot of whales, but did see a few. We also saw a mama moose with two little ones in tow. I really wish I could have gotten a picture of them but I was driving at the time.

The glaciers were impressive! We got to see some calving at Hubbard Glacier. Everyone on the ship seemed to just stop talking as we approached. It was just an awe inspiring sight.

There were 11 of us who went on the cruise and 10 of us who went down the zipline at Icy Strait Point, including my 73 year old mom! (My husband didn't go because he said doing a zipline in Army training was all he cared to do.) Here is a video I took on the way down.

This is probably the bravest thing I have ever done! I will not be doing it again, but not because it scared me, but I get migraines from pressure changes and it was a painful headache by the time I got to the bottom. (I wish I had thought of that before I got on. I could have taken medicine before had to stave it off.)

All in all it was a fun trip and there wasn't enough time to do everything we wanted to do. Oh! And on the plus side my husband won enough money in the casino that it covered the cost of the cruise!

Too bad we had to come back to reality. We are now starting to pack the house up for our big move to Florida. On to our next adventure!

Looks a beautiful part of the world, and I agree that I would like to go there one day .... if your husband is ever free and feeling lucky again, can I borrow him to pay for the trip. Lol.

You are braver than me to zip-line .... that was a long way down ... well done !!

Wow it looks fantastic ...the zip line looks like fun except for the landing , you'd need a bit of padding on your bum to cusion that .. And congrats on the winnings , there are not many people that come home from holiday with the price of Anofher!!

Ha.. funny, you were on the same cruise at the same time as me, RC-Radiance of the Sea... Did you get to see the whales feeding right by shore at Icy Straights... crazy stuff!!!

That is funny we were on the same cruise! I did see the whales! I was on top of the mountain waiting for my turn to ride the zip line. You could see them bubbling up.

Sounds like a perfect vacation, except of course there is never enough time for everything!! I simply adore Alaska. :)
