Boxer Insane
I was a hair designer for 25 years. I "retired" from hair in 2009 (own another business).
At that time I offered to keep doing my MIL's hair at her home. She opted to go elsewhere with one of her daughters. For the first year or so she did nothing but complain about her new designer. She hated her hair. I thought it looked fine however I never inspected it. She was sporting a somewhat different style but it looked fine (as fine as it can look when you don't do anything to it).
My DH asks if I could "fix" his moms hair. I agreed if she wanted me to (she did). I've been going to her house every since or for the past 2 years or so.
I get a phone call last Monday from her and I quote...."I need a haircut. I am not in any hurry. Just whenever you have time."
I told her I would have to look at my CRAZY schedule and let her know when I had some free time. I've missed countless family events over the past 6 weeks due my schedule and will also be missing out on the Father's Day cookout on Sunday. She knows I have been extremely busy. Well.....taking her at her word was the wrong thing to do.
I get out of the shower this morning after running home to take one after having already worked for 3 hours..... and have a voice mail from her.
"When are you going to cut my hair? If you don't want to do it any more just tell me so I can find someone else." CLICK.
I'm seething mad. How rude, inconsiderate, blackmailing and annoying.
Been trying to call her back every since. Of course the phone is busy. I plan on telling her this....
"I have no intention of NOT cutting your hair. I have been desperately trying to get through this week and the majority of next week before my work resumes a somewhat more tolerable schedule. I have been putting in 14+ hour days leaving the house prior to 7am and not finishing work for the evening until after 9pm.
How's MIDNIGHT TONIGHT SOUND TO YOU????"
That is literally about the time my official day ends and I can get a moments peace so why not add something else to my WORK DAY?
I highly doubt she will agree to that. I wouldn't like doing it then but it sure would help to get my point across!
