Are his ears clipped?

There is a 9 month old Boxer at a rescue that I've only seen a picture of. His ears are straight up. Would they only be standing straight up if they are clipped, or is it possible they are not clipped and he is just holding them up in the picture?

I'd rather they not be clipped.

The ears don't stand up in a full blooded Boxer, if they are standing up, he is a mix breed or they have been clipped , or the wind is blowing in the right direction. Boxer Pal, Hanley

If they are standing then the chances of them being cropped is very high. However I have seen a website that shows a boxer with natural ears standing up on their own. I dont remember the site but Im sure someone here can help you with that better then I could.

Chances are his ears got clipped if it's standing. It's hard to tell though without actually looking at a picture. Which rescue group did you see this boxer?

It is hard to say without seeing the photo. But he is probably cropped. I am curious, why would that matter? His happy Boxer attitude would be the important issue

To answer the question about why it matters, the floppy ears are much cuter and I'm sure there's a floppy eared Boxer out there who needs a home just as much as this one. I can't have guilt over every dog I choose not to take home. A lot of people seem to like the cropped ears, plus he's only 9 months old and housebroken. Someone will snatch him up.

Those are natural ears. He has German Shephard in him. Heck, he seems to be mostly GSD. How sad that someone dumped he at only 9 months old. Some people are just so heartless.

If you look at Northeast Boxer Rescue there is a completely ADORABLE boxer named Kasha, she has the oddest ears I've ever seen. Could this be the boxer you're thinking of?

No, those ears aren't clipped! That's a German Shepherd puppy!

I don't even think that he has ANY Boxer in him -- but he sure is adorable. If you like him, you should adopt him. He looks very sweet
