Ali doesnt like her leash

My new boxer puppy "Ali" doesnt like her leash. She loves to run around without it outside but we all know that isnt safe. I dont especially since I had my another boxer run away *she was abused before me.. didnt know what love was I guess* When shes on it she usually doesnt move and just sits. Shes 12 weeks old.. Any way to get her to like it or will she just "grow into" it? Thanks

treats, treats, treats,! Get some yummy treats and sort of lead her around with them! worked like a charm with Lacie.

yes, treats work very well. Also, you can put on a short leash while the dog is in the house, and let her get used to it while playing in the house. Be sure to supervise carefully so she doesn't get it caught on a piece of furniture or something. But, in time, she'll get used to it. Maggie hated her leash too the first few times, but she now goes and gets it when she wants to go outside.

Time and patience. And yes, rewards!

On Boxing Day (the day after Xmas) I picked up my 3 month old. He was crate trained, but not leash. This has been a bit of a challenge for him....he sits down and won't even move for treats. I have finally got him walking to the neighbour's driveway before he sits down stubbornly. What I did was carry him to the bottom of my driveway and walked him on the leash to the house a few times..and used lots of treats and praise!

Today Ali went around the block with me! I was proud.. basically I started with a big piece of prime rib I let her lick if she moved and then she got the hang of it. She loved seeing the neighborhood and everything. Hopefully itll become an everyday thing now Thanks for replies. Now its on to try and get her to like her crate.
