Boxer Buddy
Okay,

this makes me upset to a completely off the wall level. This couple posted a white boxer who is 10 weeks, who is supposedly AKC registered, which we all know you cannot register white boxers, and also they are trying to sell this poor little puppy for $2000.00. Yes..thats right 2000 dollars.

Uggh...I really cannot stand people who try and take advantage of not only the boxer breed...but of people who don't know about pure bred dogs and white boxers.

I just dont understand..why people feel the need to lie, to try and make money off any type of dog..not just boxers.

sorry...for ranting.. this just was upsetting when i saw it.

I think I understand how you are feeling.... I just read an ad in our local newspaper selling "black boxers" for $1,000.00. And a while ago, a lady was trying to sell her white pup for $150.00 more than the fawns in the litter. I had to find out why and almost fell out of my chair when she told me it was because the whites were "rare." Stupidity....

You can register white boxers - it's just a limited registration. ;)

Not even. You can register a 'boxer' of any colour (including colours and colour patterns those that don't exist within the breed).

It is a code of ethics (of the American boxer club, not the AKC) that says whites should be sold on limited registration (the sort that doesn't allow any offspring to be registered) only. It is not a rule, however, and cannot be enforced (except by expelling any breeder who does it from the ABC - which doesn't exactly faze those who're not members in the first place). The AKC does not care either way - they're a registry body only. It is thus entirely possible that a white puppy has full AKC registration.

Ah - I had my info mixed up. Thank you. ;)
