? about getting Angelo a friend - need advice

Angelo is 2 1/2 years old (male) and I would like to rescue a boxer to be his friend. Any advice on the companion would be helpful. should I get a female or a male and if the baby should be younger than Angelo. I do not want Angelo to get jealous, either. I take him to the dog park and he just loves other dogs. I thought if he had another dog with him all the time he would even be happier than he already is. Please give me your thoughts........my Angelo sleeps with me and the hubby and I can not fit another dog on the bed. Do you think another friend would encourage Angelo to sleep on a doggy bed with a buddy?

Definitely get a female. Age wouldn't matter that much, but if you want a playmate she should be elderly. I don't really know if she will get him out of your bed.

I suggest getting a female friend. As for the bed situation, if you have one in the bed two won't be that much worse. One full size male left me with an inch and a half a space and no blankets. When we added Lucy to the mix, I only lost about 1/2 and inch. LOL
