I think I'm not lucky with my Pénéloppe... I have her since one week and a half, she's on medication for kennel cough and now, I have to return to the vet... A strange red circle appears on her back paw, it looks like a burn from a car lighter... ( Don't be afraid, it's not that!!!) It's round, red and the same size of a lighter... It's big for a not yet 10 weeks old dog! She also as a «nipple» (sorry if I don't use the right word, I'm french:)) very big and red... I'm gonna return to the vet, but if you have an idea of what it could be...

I'm sorry your puppy is sick. :( Is is possible that the spot could be ringworm? It would be good idea to have it checked by a vet as it is very contagious. I hope she is feeling better soon!

Can you tell me more about ringworm? I just find another spot and it really looks like a ring... it's like dry skin and, if it doesn't seems to hurt her when I touch it, she's scraching a bit... Ringworm, is it a real worm? I'm going to the vet tomorrow anyways, I'm worry about my poor little baby...

Ringworm is a fungus, and can be treated. As Jan said, it's very contagious, even to humans (unless dogs have a different kind, I'm not sure, but I know humans get ringworm, too.)
I had it once, years and years ago, but I can't remember the treatment! Your vet will be able to take care of it, just fine, so don't worry. Could the red nipple have ringworm on it, too?
I'm sorry you're having so many problems! Let us know how it goes. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you. Your puppy is very fortunate to have you to care for her, poor little thing.

That's it! I'm just back from the vet and it's ringworm. I have to clean everything in the house with javel, she's gonna have a treatment with cream, pills and bath twice a week and my cats have to be treat to. It's contagious to human, but not as much as with the other animals. The red nipple is ringworm too (ouf, not something else!). The treatment can last a long as two months. The treatment is very expensive, but I have a guarantee from the breeder, I have to go see her vet, it's far away from where I live. I have no written guarantee, I hope the breeder is honest... Everything else is ok, no worms, the kennel cough is getting better... Thank you Lava Linda for your positive word, I though I was not lucky with my Pénéloppe, but I prefer what you said: she is lucky to have me! :)

Finally, i've got another vet advice and he says it's not that worse, it't only contagious by direct contact with the infected area, so I may not have to treat my cats. And this vet told me that my Pénéloppe was too young for two bath a week with this medication, as it's very strong, like the oral medication, who does't fits all dogs because it's too strong too so it's not good for a puppie. He says that the fungical cream is enough to help the ringworm to disapear on the skin, it still gonna take as long as 2 months to go out from the blood, but if I treat the skin, it gonna disappear from the blood by it self (I still have to desinfect my appartement though). The breeder suggest to take the dog back with her and treat it til it's alright, but you realize! 1 or 2 months without my Pénéloppe at this age! We were a little angry at her first, but then she suggest to give us the registration papers for free (we had ask for them), witch cover a little bit more than half the vet bill. It's finally not that bad!

I'm sorry to hear that she has ringworm, but at least you probably caught it early. Hopefully neither you nor your cats will get it. Poor little boxer girl is sure starting off with problems. I hope she is feeling better soon. At least it sounds like the breeder is being reasonable about it.

Take care,
