WOO! HOO! I've been having kitty withdrawals lately and practically begging DH to ALLOW :)rolleyes: yeah, right!) me to have one, but yesterday, a higher power than DH intervened and while I was at The Dollar General looking for Santa hats for my kids' Christmas performance, there was a tiny little kitty under my van when I came out. She is so small, so skinny and was so cold, she just laid in my lap all the way home and purred and purred. I did get a couple of pictures of her and Boomer "meeting" (ie-kitty's fur all fluffed out, her tail up and probably her hissing ;)) He just won't leave her alone, but she really doesn't seem too bothered by him until his nose nudges her a little too hard, then she hides or runs, but he was very gentle and so cute looking at her, then me, then her, like "what is it, mom?" She pretty much stayed on my shoulder the whole evening, I guess for a "street kitty"-the higher, the better. And I keep calling it "she", but I really can't tell if it's a female, or a male that's just too young to tell, yet. But, the vet will be able to tell me Friday, so naming her/him will have to wait till then. We were thinking something along the lines of General if it's a boy, or Dolly if it's a girl- (Dollar General, ya know?)

How wonderful....I love kittens. What color he/she? I sure hope that there were not any others around with yours???

Dollar (lars)
General (genny, genifer)

Combination of some of the letters involved.

Noel (it is christmas time after all!)

Good-Luck!

I think it's a she, and she's tabby, but not black/grey-she's more like black/gold striped and spotted. She has the coolest marking and stripings I think I've ever seen before. She's colored almost like an Ocelot. She's very pretty and has the cutest face with big ears and eyes. She's made herself right at home, and last night, she just played and played, and is very feisty.

Yes, unfortunately, there was another kitten, but it ran off and wouldn't come up to me. I even went back yesterday to see if I could see it, but it wasn't there.

Oh, lucky you with a new kitty! Can't wait to see a pic of her, preferably with Boomer. Sounds like the coloring of a mackeral tabby, and yes, they are exotic looking and gorgeous.

A week ago I was at the local PetSmart and in the kitty adoption room was a year old black male longhair cat. I wanted him so badly but we were going to be gone a couple of weeks this month, so I passed the opportunity to adopt him. And now Harold is gone, to a good home I hope. I'll go back iin January to see if there is another adult male. Pinky needs some feline company.

Congratulations and good luck with kitty.

Okay, an update. Yesterday afternoon, I took kitty to the vet, and it's definitely a she-kitty. She also has a bit of a cold, but nothing terrible, just needs some antibiotics for a few days. He even cleaned her ears, and said they looked great, did the blue-light test and, no ringworm. He said she seemed to be in good health considering she was outside, she just needs to gain a little weight, b/c she hasn't been eating well since she can't smell with her cold. He said she's probably about 10-12 weeks old, he said closer to 10. And let me tell ya'll, she's definitely a feisty missy-when he gave her the first dose of antibiotic, she yelled out like I've never heard before, and this
morning when I gave it to her, I didn't have ahold of her good, and she scratched the fool out of the palm of my hand! So, I definitely need a good feisty name for her. So, ya'll help me out-send some good names my way!

Lets see a feisty female name......Boudicca (British warrior queen), Joan (of Arc), Atalanta (queen of the Amazons). That should get you started! :D

I would love to see some pics of this feisty little girl!

Well, I dropped my film off today (I know, I still live in the 35mm ice age!), so I should be able to post some pics within the week. I can't wait for ya'll to see her! I don't think her little feet touched the ground all weekend- you see, my stepdaughter (who's seven) was with us this weekend, and she's very much a kitty person, so every time I couldn't find kitty, all I had to do was look for Summer, and there she was, in her lap or on her shoulder! It was very cute.
I still can't seem to find just the right name for her, though. I don't think I've ever had such a hard time thinking of a name! I guess I want something different, but not hard for the kids to say, and like I said before, very feisty! Oh, well, I'm sure something will hit me pretty soon.
