1 vs. 2

Okay, I need some help from those with more than one-We are picking up Maggie tomorrow-yeah-Now DH has decided how much trouble could 2 be- this way Maggie will have someone to play with. We had thought about getting a 2nd before Darla got sick and passed, but then Darla would have been around to help show the ropes so to speak. So, i don"t know would 2 puppies be any worse than just 1. What do you think?

I think in some ways two should be easier than one. Some behaviors are learned (most) and if you can control the good from the bad behaviors, then they can learn from each other. One may do something before the other and receive praise/treats, while the other watches and says "hey, maybe I should try that". At the same time, bad behavior is going to be twice the trouble to stop. I think you'll do fine with two. Keep us posted on what happens and good luck to you and DH.

I'm not sure I could have coped with two puppies but know many have with wonderful results. If you think you could then go for it but think carefully first.

Well, we did it 2 pups, brother-Zeus, and sister Maggie. They are so cute. and good company for each other. Friday night-they woke up at 1 am and 5 am-Last night they slept for midnight til 7:30-it was great! After we brought them home DH says, Have we lost our minds, I said" YEP!"

Congrats on your 2 new babies.. Maggie and Zeus can't wait to see photos of your new family.. I think its is awesome, I think that they will be good for each other, I haven't ever had two boxers puppies at once.. But I'm sure you'll get some good advice from other Members who do.. Layla is our first girl boxer and she is 4 months old tomorrow and Cody is our second male Boxer going to be 3 the end of Nov.. Riley was our First Boxer who got sick and we had to send him to the rainbow bridge at 3yrs old But He taught us that Boxers are the breed for us.. sometimes I think it would be easier if Cody and Layla were both puppies as sometimes its hard to tell who is older of the two when Cody thinks all toys are his and as soon as she has a toy he has to have that toy or steal it from her then the chase begins, he has to be right in the middle if we do any thing with Layla.. Kind of just like human brothers and sisters. Heres to many wonderful stories of Zeus and Maggie ~ Vickie Cody and Layla

We got our second when our oldest was 7. We now wish we had done it years ago. They absolutely adore each other and keep each other company. They play together, sleep together and eat together. I will always have two now.
