    Grapes as treats?!

I too thought as you, and I'm sure grapes and raisins are toxic and I certainly wouldn't be offering them as treats. I don't think one or two if eaten by mistake are a big issue but not as a regular treat.

    yearly vaccinations good or bad

Whiskers, why do you have to recommend yearly vacs? Is it the vets? This is what concerns me, do vets see yearly vacs as easy money or do they really believe they are necessary? I personally don't trust too many vets as they all want to take as much cash from you as possible (in my experience)...

    yearly vaccinations good or bad

Thank you all for your replies, I really don't want to vaccinate wilf this year, he had his puppy vacs and boosters at a year, he is now 2 and I think I will ask for a titer test. I have asked my vet their opinion and have not yet received a reply! I have another dog who is a year old and due...

    Head bobbing???

My dog had lots of these recently after surgery, we think it was due to the medication. He hasn't had any more since stopping the meds. Is your dog currently on any drugs that may be causing him to have these head tremors? Hopefully nothing serious.

    Bad Reaction to Pre-Anesthetic

We had something similar happen to our dog a week ago but this was post surgery. He had a big op and all appeared well when we took him home but 2 days after he started having head tremors (up to 10 in one day!) We of course took him back to the vet who didn't really know what was causing it...

    pancarpal arthrodesis

hi all - i was just wondering if anyone has experienced pancarpal arthrodesis surgery with their boxer. I have a 21 month old male who has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his 'wrist' which will not heal with rest. The surgery is very very expensive and our insurance has reached its...

    stress fracture

I am thinking of just that gatorblu, the vet said it wasnt an urgent decision as this has been going on for such a long time. Wilf has to have lead walks again for the next month :( and then back to normal activity to see how well it does him - ie is he ok for one day, one week, one month etc. I...

    stress fracture

hi all I have posted recently about my 19 month old boxers limp. I took him to a different vet after weeks of rest and not much improvement. The new vet did x rays which showed nothing so he was referred to an ortho vet who saw him yesterday and actually found pain on examining (something...

    limping again!

well after months of limping and restricted exercise I decided to get a second opinion on wilfs limp. great vet and he again felt, pulled, twisted etc the leg and again nothing. He wanted to do x rays as he felt that anything occurring for more than 3 weeks is a 'chronic' injury that warrants...

    limping again!

i feel the same too about restricted walking, running and playing - it is so tough watching them mooch about - not being allowed to run free and play with their friends. Wilf is so miserable but i think it is the only way to recovery, he is not limping this week but has not been of the leash and...
