After finding this site and reading all about puppy foods and learning a ton, I have switched Reese from Pedigree puppy to Royal Canin Large Breed Puppy formula. Is this a good choice? I know that it is way better then the pedigree...but I just want to make sure I am picking one of the best foods for her. Until I really researched it, I thought all dry foods were pretty much the same...I was definitely wrong. She hadn't been eating well at all and not really gaining weight too well either. What is a normal weight range for a female boxer of her age? Any info or input would be greatly appreciated! :)

Royal Canine is a good choice.

Boxers are NOT large breed dogs. You might want to switch to a regular formula, NOT the large breed formula. Boxers are a medium size breed and don't need the extra calcium, etc. in large breed formulae.

Good luck.

You never said how old she is.

From my research the Royal Canin is good. I personally feed Natural Balance Ultra Premium.

Sorry about that. Reese is 8 months old. She has been eating a lot better on the Royal Canin, so that is a plus. I got it at Petsmart...and for some reason they only carry it in large breed and mini breed formula. Im going to search around online to see where I can get it in either the medium breed size or maybe a regular formula. Thanks for the input!

Royal Canin's Natural Blend Holistic is their better food, and there is a puppy formula. Jazz has been on this a while and eats it really well. It actually smells pretty good compared with some of the others we've tried. Chicken Soup was another that worked well; it's just not as easy for us to get.
